The Detroit Retro Society is Michigan’s greatest music entertainment production team. Whether it’s a wedding, private party, corporate event, or touring the world backing up some of the best in the business, our team is ready to help your music vision come to life. We’ve shared the stage with everyone from classic acts like The Temptations, Parliament Funkadelic, Foreigner and Aretha Franklin to modern acts like Sturgill Simpson, Kid Rock, Griz and The Detroit Pistons. MORE THAN JUST A BAND: COMMUNITY
The Detroit Retro Society team spent the summer bringing the musical heat to a number of municipal concert series, festivals and events all over Michigan. The City of Novi tapped our team to re-envision their celebration of Veterans, a veteran walk with a BBQ dinner was capped off with patriotic and celebratory sounds of the DRS small band in Fuerst Park. In Heritage Park for the City of Canton, the team delivered a danceable evening of modern and retro sounds. Other notable shows included performances for the City of St. John’s Summer Concert Series, City of West Bloomfield Senior Lunch, an all-out dance party with the full DETROIT MUSIC: PAST TO PRESENT cast in Riverside Park in Auburn Hills, a massive retro street party at Royal Oak’s Summer Concert Series with special guest Brian Vander Ark from The Verve Pipe, and many more!

GOLDMAN SACHS 10,000 SMALL BUSINESS SUMMIT – WASHINGTON D.C.

The Detroit Retro Society was recently asked to from produce the music at the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Summit in Washington D.C., the country’s largest gathering of small business ownership ever. Our team produced the music for 2500 small business owners, celebrities, business and political leadership, a former President and even got a shout out from the stage from an Iron Chef.

MORE THAN JUST A BAND: A VIBE
The Detroit Retro Society team has a ton of options when it comes to music styles, band size, and personnel choices. One such sub-group of the team is The Bärtfieldinger Trio. Comprised of three of Michigan’s music accomplished musicians, this team has decades of experience choosing and performing jazz, cocktail hour, jazz concert and special event music to entertain and delight audiences near and far.
Music sets the vibe and lets the event attendees settle in to a relaxing and celebratory mood, but it’s not the only piece of the equation. Sometimes the room needs to look the part as well. On this event for a “Real Men Wear Pink” private charity fundraiser party, our team was struck by the beauty of the space for the event when they walked through for a site visit. They easily could have brought instruments, played some music and left… but their years of experience in planning and producing events kicked in. They made some simple suggestions about room set up, band placement, the use of the owner’s piano, and most importantly, LIGHTING. Having all of the production equipment for events big and small, the team brought a truck load of extra lights, a PA system for the charity auction, and set the VIBE for the party from the moment the attendees arrived until the time they left that fit the pink theme, delighted the attendees and helped the event be a success for the charity.

From the soul of Motown, Stevie Wonder, and Parliament Funkadelic, to the garage rock of Alice Cooper, The Stooges and Grand Funk Railroad… Aretha Franklin, Bob Seger, The Romantics, Glenn Frey, Was Not Was, Madonna, The Verve Pipe, Kid Rock, Eminem, Uncle Kracker, The White Stripes, Electric Six, Greta Van Fleet… and Lizzo!
